Yisunsin Festival
◉ Introduction
The holy hero, Admiral Yisunsin is the utmost figure to Koreans for his patriotism and self-devotion. To understand Korea and its people is to understand Admiral Yisunsin. He was not only a genius strategist ever undefeated in numerous naval battles during 7 years of the Japanese Invasion in 1592, but also a genuine patriot sacrificing his life and honor for the better good, his country and it people. Asan is the place where the Admiral Yisunsin grew, and this will be the great opportunity to experience traditional Korean customs as well.

Asan City, Southern Chuncheong Province. Subway Line no.1 will lead you here! Take off at Onyangoncheon station, and the shuttle will take you here. Wanna use Express bus? Fine! The event will enter into April 28th and last for 7 days, which means it ends May 3rd. So keep in mind and don't miss it!
◉ Command Hope, Like Yisunsin
Yes, we do know. We have been through the tough time ever since the financial crisis emerged last year. Too many people have laid off from their jobs, and nobody is getting a job recently. It is like a walk through endless abyss without any hope. The city of Asan, therefore, organizes this event to share hope and belief from our legendary hero, Admiral Yisunsin. Even when he was under sentence of death from his own king, even when he and 13 battleships had to confronted more than 450 Japanese battleships, all he had and encouraged was hope. This time where we face another world-wide crisis, once again, we hope and believe to overcome it by learning him. |
